Getting Started


How do I place an order?

We recommend you start with a free trial, we are so sure you will love the SiteXpress website builder, that when you upgrade your trial account your site will already be built!

Do I have to pay for my order over the web?

No, you can pay for your SiteXpress website by direct payment to our account or by cheque (processing fee applies). If you do pay through the SiteXpress website, all online payments are safely encrypted.

What happens after I sign up for SiteXpress? 

We will immediately send you your log-in information, so that you can sign in to the Administrator Area and access all the easy-to-use web-building tools and features. You can start building your website within minutes of beginning the ordering process!

Can I upgrade my package in the future?

Yes.  You can upgrade your package at any time. 

How long will my website take to post live once I place my order?

Generally your site will be finished and ready to go live within 30 seconds, however due to the current load on our systems it can take anywhere up to 1 hour (during business hours).

When do I choose my domain name?

You can select your own personalised domain name (www.my-sitename.com.au) after you sign up.  One of our support staff will contact you and walk you through the process to ensure you get the best domain name possible.

You can also add additional domain names later if you want.  (Note, there is a charge for additional domain names you purchase).

I need to buy a domain name for my website, right? 

Wrong! Your SiteXpress website comes with domain name registration as part of your setup! You can choose any .com / .au/ .net / .org domain name and we'll register it in your name! Registration usually takes no more than 24-48 hours. But if you already have a domain name that you'd like to use for your website, you can do that too!

Who owns the domain name if I register it through you?

The owner of any domain registered through SiteXpress is the customer that is registering the domain. If you are on a 12 month plan, the domain will remain with SITEXpress until the plan term is over, or until the plan is closed and any required early payment fees are paid.

What is "bandwidth" and how much do I need?

Bandwidth is the key to ensuring that your website is visible to all your visitors. Whenever someone visits your site, data (text, images) flows from our extremely powerful web servers to your visitor's computer. Your bandwidth is the total of all data requested by all your visitors. The larger the files on your website and the more visitors you have, the more bandwidth you need. SiteXpress packages start at 250mb of bandwidth per month. If you receive more traffic or display particularly large files, you can always add extra bandwidth to guarantee your site’s availability (extra bandwidth is available at $30 per extra 1000MB).

Do I need any special software to run SiteXpress? 

SiteXpress works with many operating systems such as Microsoft Windows (98, Me, 2000, XP, 2003), Mac OS X or Linux. You need Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (version 6.0 or higher) or Mozilla Firefox (version 0.9 or higher) to access all the admin features of SiteXpress, but any browser is acceptable to view SiteXpress websites. You should also have Macromedia Flash Player installed (usually installed by default).

Do I have to host my website with SiteXpress?

Yes, by bundling the best website builder with the great hosting we are able to offer a system that cannot be beaten on price or quality! 

What happens if I stop paying my hosting fee?

In most cases you will receive an invoice 10 days before payment is due, if payment misses the due date, you will receive several notices reminding you of your payment obligation.  During this time we will try to contact you to resolve the problem, If the account is not paid, then your site will no longer be available on the internet.  As soon as payment is made your site will be returned to the internet. A holding page will appear at your URL while your website is unavailable.

Design


Can I upload my own company logo?

Yes. not only can you upload your logo, but as part of setup, the siteXpress team will take your existing logo and professionally convert for use on your website.  The SiteXpress system will even resize your logo to blend seamlessly with your new website.

Can I change my site design?

Yes, you can change your site design at any time of the day or night. Your content will not be affected by the design change - it is simply applied "around it".

What if I can't find a design that I like?

With dozens of designs to choose from, we’re confident this won’t be an issue. However, if you prefer, our creative team will design a completely custom design for you based on your current branding and requirements. Extra charges apply if you require this option and will depend on requirements.

How do I edit content for pages, news articles, etc?

SiteXpress has a powerful built in HTML editor  that allows you to write content as it will appear on your website.

You can add tables, style your text, upload new images, create hyperlinks to other pages, websites or even files for your visitors to download, and change the font to add impact to any site!

Can I upload my own images and place it into my pages?

Yes, you can upload as many images as your site size limit will allow (even our smallest plan allows for hundreds of web images to be uploaded).

How many pages can I create?

It depends on which package you select – Personal, Small Biz, Ecommerce or Ecommerce Pro.
